Are you a psychologist, psychotherapist, counselor, social worker or guidance counselor that wants to know how to effectively integrate positive psychology into your practice? Positive Psychology is the scientific study of well-being and the factors that help people lead flourishing lives. Many clinicians are interested in applying positive psychology in their therapeutic practice and there is compelling evidence that doing so can boost the effects of therapy. Still, positive psychology includes such a vast array of findings and is growing so rapidly, that some therapists are not sure how to start bringing it to their work.

This 2-day workshop will offer a clear conceptual framework for integrating positive psychology into your therapeutic practice, through:

  • Research-based presentations
  • Experiential exercises
  • Live demonstrations

You will learn:

  • The fundamentals of Positive Psychology and the PERMA model of well-being
  • Why positive psychology fits well with research findings about what works in therapy
  • Positive Emotions and how to cultivate them
  • Flow experiences and the conditions that foster engagement
  • Character Strengths and how to use them in everyday life
  • Positive Relationships and how to nurture them
  • Goal setting and achievement for flourishing
  • Meaning and purpose as pillars of a full life
  • Optimism and hope as motors of change
  • Mindfulness and physical activity

We will learn evidence-based positive interventions for each of these components of well-being and they will be illustrated with clinical examples.
