Can you Trust your Gut?

Do you involve your instinct in key decisions?

What do you do when you get a gut feel?

Do your head and heart work together? Or does one usually win out?

Do you ever get hijacked by physical symptoms?

What if you learned about the science and tools of somatic psychology:

  • we have more neurons in our gut than our brains
  • modern neuroscience has uncovered the connection between brain and body and how to use it

In this session you will:

  • Learn what somatic psychology is and a little about the scientific research that backs it up
  • Harness the power of your intuition and listen to it for better decision making
  • How to avoid being taken over by physical reactions
  • Harmonize head and heart

Bio

Kimberley Wakefield holds a Msc. in Applied Positive Psychology where the topic for her dissertation was Posttraumatic Growth.  She is also an accredited coach and she combines these passions in her private client and teaching practice.  She also holds a position on the Board of the Canadian Positive Psychology Association and is the Marketing Lead for the Canadian Workplace Wellbeing Awards.

Kimberley has taken her expertise in both coaching and Posttraumatic Growth to come to a deeper understanding of Somatic Psychology or simply put, tapping into the wisdom of our body.  Advanced neuroscience has shown us that there are neurons in our stomach proving that a “gut instinct” is research-backed and “thinking” doesn’t stop at our neck.  Whole body decisions work out better for teams, leaders and organizational wellbeing.
