Positive Psychology Book Club

read and discuss...with your CPPA friends

Join us for The Positive Psychology Bookclub with Andrea Seydel, avid reader, book doula, positive psychology practitioner, and certified life coach, for an unconventional approach to reading books as a community! Take a deep dive into the world of positive psychology coaching as Andrea teaches, highlights, and offers in-depth opportunity for application of the key concepts in each book.

What you should expect
  • Read a great book to inspire and build us up.
  • Meet with a group of like-minded individuals.
  • Be encouraged, challenged, and inspired.
  • Have new ideas and action steps to move forward.
  • Have fun with the CPPA community!
What we expect from you

At the start of each month, we will announce the book of the month.

We’ll spend the month reading it- As you read, we kindly ask that you capture:

  • An overview: a short description of the book that provides general information-a general summary
  • Key take-ways: main points or key messages taught, learned or understood
  • The eureka effect: (also known as the Aha! moment)-your discovery, inspiration, or insight while reading.

Have this information ready to copy-paste and share with the group. Host Andrea Seydel will create a mind-map with all our joint key insights, take-ways, and a-ha’s that you contribute. Of course, we will have a lively discussion, break-out groups and opportunities to put the knowledge into action right away.

The best part is, if you miss one of the Book Clubs or didn’t have the chance to read, you will still get an excellent summary of the empowering book! We’ll meet virtually (via Zoom) to chat about the book at the end of the month!

You’ll love our incredible book line-up.

Although, with the help of many Positive Psychology professionals and MAPP alumni, we have curated a list of incredible books that we are excited to read together. We are always open to your suggestions and requests for The Positive Psychology Book Club. The only requirement is that they contribute to human flourishing and are influenced by positive psychology. We’ve already started curating a robust list.
