★ 6TH ANNUAL · PRESENTED BY CANADIAN POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY ASSOCIATION

Is Your Organization a Workplace Well-Being Champion?

The Canadian Workplace Well-Being Awards (CWWA) recognize Canadian employers who put psychological health, safety, and human flourishing at the centre of how they work. 2026 marks our sixth year celebrating the organizations leading this work — and the first year our awards are powered by Evalato, a modern application platform built for save-as-you-go applications, mobile drafting, and a smoother experience end-to-end.

If your organization fosters a caring culture where employees can thrive, we want to hear from you.

Why This Matters in 2026

Workplace well-being practices contribute to measurable improvements in engagement, innovation, retention, psychological safety, and productivity — and most importantly, the health of the people who do the work.

The CWWA exists to surface, study, and share what’s working in Canadian workplaces, so other organizations can learn and build on it.

+20%

Companies scoring high on employee well-being outperformed the S&P 500 by 20%.

How Applications are Assessed

Applications are reviewed by an independent third-party jury of professionals from Canada’s positive psychology community. Judges score against five pre-established criteria.

Note: Applicants must have implemented a well-being program that goes beyond fitness and nutrition and addresses psychological well-being — mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health.

The CWWA are a national recognition program presented annually by the Canadian Positive Psychology Association in partnership with Workplace Strategies for Mental Health, compliments of Canada Life. The awards recognize Canadian organizations whose workplaces demonstrate excellence in psychological health, safety, and employee well-being. 2026 is the sixth annual program.

Any Canadian organization with five or more employees, across private sector, public sector, nonprofits, and charities of any size. The four award categories are based on sector and size.

The 2026 awards are hosted on Evalato, a dedicated awards management platform. Evalato lets you save your progress, edit your draft as many times as you need, and submit when ready. We are running a free Evalato platform demo on May 1, 2026 at 2:00 PM EDT.

The CWWA is a benchmarked program, not a competition with a fixed number of winners. Any organization that meets or exceeds the benchmark score becomes a CWWA winner. In 2025, all 14 applicants achieved this score — a program first.

Yes. To apply, one person from your organization must hold a current CPPA membership. Annual membership is $90 and includes access to CPPA’s full programming, community, and resources beyond the awards. Become a CPPA member.

Programs must address psychological well-being — mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health — and go beyond fitness and nutrition. Examples include psychological safety frameworks, mental health training, leadership development, employee resource groups, peer support programs, flexible work practices, and positive psychology interventions.

Each criterion requires evidence of impact — metrics with baselines and timeframes, participation rates with trend data, structured employee feedback, or third-party survey results. The strongest applications pair every claim with proof. Examples by program focus: culture/climate work uses engagement and absenteeism trends; harassment programs use complaint and resolution data; leadership development uses 360 feedback or competency scores; positive psychology programs use pre/post validated tool results. Detailed evidence guidance is included in the Submission Guide and Applicant Bootcamp.

Describe your qualitative evidence — structured feedback, observable changes in behaviour, exit interview themes — and explain how and when you plan to start measuring outcomes. Honest reporting on where you are scores better than polished claims without proof.
