Do you have a workplace well-being story to tell?
With the increase in workplace well-being needs, a number of organizations have taken the necessary steps to elicit positive change by implementing employee well-being practices and initiatives. These have contributed to notable improvements in productivity, profitability, innovation and more importantly – the overall health of staff.
Hosted by the Canadian Positive Psychology Association (CPPA), the inaugural Canadian Workplace Well-Being Awards aims to celebrate positive psychology in action and recognize organizations that are going the extra mile to nurture the mental health and well-being of their employees.
For example, companies that showcase any of these practices will be considered:
- Appreciate employees for their accomplishments and contribution
- Promote good communication, positive relationships and a sense of belonging
- Ensure employees feel supported by their supervisor and organization
- Support mental health and life challenges of employees
- Increase employee engagement

Organizations who participate will:
- Learn about workplace projects and programs rooted in positive psychology and how they improve business outcomes
- Collaborate with like-minded organizations while sharing leading practice ideas
- Network with the leaders in workplace well-being
Submission Criteria
- Open to any small, medium, or large size organization (for-profit, non-profit, educational, governmental etc.) that has developed and implemented impactful psychological employee well-being initiatives or demonstrated leadership in the field of helping employees thrive
- Must be an ongoing well-being program
- Must be a Canadian company
Why Apply
Changing workplace culture and improving employee well-being is a daunting task and not every company understands how to do it or where to begin. Companies who are taking this on are changing the face and the future of workplace well-being and need to be identified, acknowledged, and celebrated.
Your participation in the awards will give you the visibility and the opportunity to showcase your leadership to others who will hopefully follow your lead.
Awards
Assessment of applications will be made by a third-party jury of professionals from Canada’s Positive Psychology community, experienced and respected leaders in workplace well-being, and leading educators. Assessment by judges will be based on demonstrated commitment to creating a workplace culture which values and promotes employee psychological well-being.
The organization can demonstrate the program by providing examples of initiatives, practices and approaches that leverage the principles of positive psychology to yield a significant impact to the employees’ level of happiness and psychological well-being allowing the organization to flourish. The programs can be both employee-led and organizational initiatives.
Applicants must have implemented a well-being program that is beyond fitness & nutrition, and instead, addresses employee psychological well-being such as work/life balance, improved engagement, sense of fulfillment etc.
